Nurturing the Physical and Spiritual Through the Seasons...
As the leaves drop to the ground and the air turns crisp, or when the first buds once again begin to form on naked branches, I feel a primal urge to clear, rearrange, and replenish. Fall and Spring—these are the seasons that stir my soul most deeply, each with its own rhythm of renewal.
In Fall, the world slows, and so do I. The shortening days beckon me inward, urging a deep clean of my home—dust swept away, clutter banished, and Feng Shui realigned to restore harmony. My space becomes a sanctuary, filled only with items that spark meaning and warmth. Spiritually, this is a time of nesting, of finding solace in the cozy glow of a lamp-lit room, surrounded by treasures that tell my story. My writing, too, takes a quieter turn. The urge to create softens, and I surrender to the pull of novels—stories that whisk me to distant worlds, offering escape from the bitter Prairie winds rattling my windows.
Spring, by contrast, is a jubilant awakening. The lengthening days coax me outside, where the warming sunshine and mild breezes invite long strolls along the backroads behind my home. Physically, I shed the layers of winter, both literal and metaphorical, as the stressors of the harsh Prairie cold fade into memory. My spirit feels lighter, ready to embrace the promise of growth. Yet, I know the winds of change will soon bring the violent storms of summer, a reminder of nature’s untamed cycles.
These seasonal shifts mirror the ebb and flow of my priorities. Fall’s hibernation nurtures introspection, a time to take stock of what I’ve written and what still calls to be explored. Spring’s rejuvenation fuels action, a time to move, to breathe, to let ideas bloom like wildflowers. The interplay of the physical and spiritual is ever-present—clearing clutter to make space for clarity, walking open roads to invite inspiration.
As the seasons turn, I’m reminded that life, like nature, is a cycle of shedding and becoming. Whether I’m curling up with a book in Fall’s embrace or stepping into Spring’s vibrant light, I’m nurturing both body and soul, readying myself for the next chapter—on the page and beyond.
